January 1/13 8:29 am - Will Routley To New Team for 2013

This has been in the works for a while, but it is now official:  ex-SpiderTech pro Will Routley has signed with Accent.Jobs-Wanty, the Belgian Pro Continental squad.  Routley was one of a number of SpiderTech riders left hunting for a new team this fall when SpiderTech announced that it would not be running a team in 2013.  The Whistler-based rider had a strong season, including ninth overall in the Tour of Turkey early in the season (moving up a spot after the removal of winner Ivaïlo Gabrovski for doping).  Routley is one of the last of the SpiderTech riders to announce his new tream for the 2013 season.

Will has updated us on the signing and what the early part of his season will look like.

"It's official!  Team Accent Jobs-Wanty will be my home for the 2013 season. In the past few years with SpiderTech we've done a good number of the same races as Accent Jobs. In that time I've seen that Accent Jobs is comprised of some really good guys and has a great atmosphere. Added to this is the fact that they have a proposed race schedule laid out for me which is looking just great. It will be a busy year, but I'm really looking forward to it."

"We'll start things off at training camp in Spain beginning January 10th, after which I'll have a few weeks to train and prepare in Girona. Then my intended first race will be the Vuelta Andalucia, Ruta del Sol. It's a tough stage race in the south of Spain, and I had a podium finish there last year, so should be the perfect spot to start off my season."

"My race plan has 86 race days on it, with the Ardennes Classics being one of the many highlights. It should be a busy season to say the least. I'm flying out on the 2nd of January, and won't be back until the national championships, so the season is about to begin!"
