Report from Cali Columbia Track World Cup

Mandy Poitras continued to show that she is among the elite of the world's women in the Points Race as she won the bronze medal in the Cali Columbia World Cup # 2. Poitras had to rely on her lightening quick sprint to capture the final double points sprint to vault her into the 3rd position with 10 pts in the 24 km event. The winner was Alanna Burnes ( Aus ) with 20 pts with the silver going to Antonella Bellutti ( Italy ) with 17pts. Next stop for Poitras on the World Cup circuit is Mexico City in 3 week

Lori-Ann Meunzer also captured a bronze medal in the sprints as well as a 4th place in the 500m event. The Olympic Sprint team of Doug Baron, Jim Fisher, and Lars Madsen placed 9th.
