Tour de Troit's international ride returns Sunday, October 12th, when 500 cyclists ride across the Ambassador Bridge. This year's "Bike the Bridge" ride will begin at 9 a.m. in Assumption Park in Windsor, Ontario.

"This is a ride of epic and international proportions," said Kelli Kavanaugh, Co-Director, Tour de Troit. "This is the only opportunity for people to bike across the Ambassador Bridge. It is a breath-taking experience and highly exclusive, limited to only 500 riders."

Riders will pedal across the 1.6-mile Ambassador Bridge to Detroit, then immediately back across the bridge to Windsor. Cyclists will then depart for a trek through the Windsor community for a ride totaling 20 miles. Upon their return to Assumption Park they will enjoy a boxed lunch offering food from local Windsor establishments, including the Carvery, Anchor Coffee House and Meleg's Orchards.

"After featuring Southwest Detroit during last year's ride, we're excited to turn our attention to Windsor for this year's ride," said Vittoria Katanski, Co-Director, Tour de Troit. "Windsor offers wonderful bike lanes and green spaces that will make this ride a true pleasure."

Tour de Troit started hosting "Bike the Bridge" in 2014. The previous four years of the rider were managed by a small group of volunteers.

Registration for the ride is now closed because the 500-rider limit has been reached. No day-of registration is available because of custom regulations, which require proof of an enhanced driver's license or passport.

On September 20th, a record number of 7,500 cyclists and volunteers participated in the 13th annual Tour de Troit bike ride, the organization's signature event. In May, Tour de Troit was presented with the prestigious Community Support for Bicycling Award by the League of Michigan Bicyclists (LMB) in Lansing during 2014 Lucinda Means Bicycle Advocacy Day. The same organization also named the Tour de Troit ride the largest in the state.
