Results from the first stage of the Tour of Croatia
Guillaume Boivin (Cycling Academy Team) was part of the early break of four that went away just after the start to eventually gain a lead of over 10 minutes. Boivin attacked with 40 to go, taking the only KOM point and then kept going. With 5 km to go the bunch brought him back, with the teams of Nizzolo and Cavendish delivering the two sprinters to the battle at the line.
Boivin finished 158th on the stage but will wear the green jersey of the Mountain classification leader at teh start of the second stage
