It appears that Chrissy Redden flatted and crashed, and Lesley Tomlinson also crashed during the women's XC race. Redden, we are told, flatted in the second lap, dropping to 14th from 7th. She worked her way back up to 8th, and was closing in on Alison Dunlap when the race ended.
