Heavy rain, cold weather and fierce winds are threatening to delay the start of the men's road race in Sydney. We'll keep you updated as we know more news

Hockey Night in Las Vegas

The Sixth Annual Industry Hockey Championships at Interbike was held at the Las Vegas Ice Gardens. Part 1 Sunday night, part 2 Monday night.

Steve Bauer flew in to assist the Canucks and team spirits were high. Team Canada easily defeated Team SoCal and Team Shimano won their match against Team All American on Sunday night. The gold medal match would be Team Canada vs. Team Shimano on Monday.

The Canadians were confident. That is until Shimano presented its line-up for the game. Team Shimano had drafted 2 Canadians and not just any Canadians: Bill Scullion (National Sales Manager for Shimano Canada) and Greg Hammon. Scullion is well known to the players of this annual tournament, but Hammon, it was rumoured, is a recently retired semi-pro player - a ringer brought in to give Shimano the edge.

Well it worked and Team Shimano defeated Team Canada 8-5. Team Canada took their defeat with style and class, but vowed to get revenge next year.

Devinci signs new sponsor for 2001

Team Ford Devinci will add Coors Light to its sponsorship roster for 2001.
