149 David Dulude (Can) VB/Saeco/Siconseils 0:50

Editor's Note: From what we can determine (after receiving a rather confusing message from the team), VB/Saeco/Siconseils is a joint Canadian-Swiss Division III squad with the Canadian portion based out of Montreal. The riders appear to be mainly veteran age riders.

National Track Camp Report
(courtesy Kurt Innes)

Another clear, cool and beautiful day here in Vancouver has greeted our cyclists with open arms. We have our first racing of the camp scheduled for tonite, during the regularly scheduled Wednesday night racing. We are expecting between 50 - 60 riders to attend, including the 30 that are involved in the camp. The format tonite is scratch, points and other bunch style racing. Tomorrow we have time trials scheduled.

The camp is going very well so far, the only major issues are the relatively cool temperatures indoors inside the actual velodrome. Two of our younger athletes have fallen ill with the flu, but are resting comfortably during the day as the rest of the gang heads to the track for workouts. Dan (Proulx) and a group of athletes headed down town last evening for a sushi experience. This has become a regular Burnaby tradition for us out of towners.

The "ringing of the meal time bell" has also become a very competitive event as well. The juniors are in a tight battle against Jimmy the Fish in this all out battle to win bell ringing supremacy!!

More news later,
Kurt
