Team Canada had an exceptional start to the Pan American Track Championships on Wednesday, in Cochabamba, Bolivia, with riders setting Pan American records in three separate events.  Both the women's and men's Team Pursuit squads set records, with the women setting a time of 4:13.705 and the men 3:53.481 .  In the women's Team Sprint, Lauriane Genest and Kelsey Mitchell set a record time of 32.232 seconds, and then won the gold medal in the Final against Mexico.  The Team Pursuit squads will race for gold on Thursday.

"We were really excited and surprised with our ride this morning," said Mitchell.  "Lauriane had a strong first lap and, thanks to the altitude, my second lap was quite strong as well.  We felt pretty confident going into the finals and were happy to walk away with a gold medal, a national record, and a Pan American record."
