March 29/21 16:01 pm - The Everest Challenge - Train for Your Own Challenge with TaG

Lesley Tomlinson of Tag Cycling has told us that her studio has developed a program to help riders prepare for an attempt on the Everest Challenge - when you ride more than 8848 vertical metres (the height of Mount Everest). The goal is to be able to do it in one day (the classic challenge), three days or more. The TaG Everesting for Everyone challenge is to accumulate the 8848 metres of climbing in a time frame reasonable for your ability.

Train with TaG virtually and then in their outdoor group training sessions in the late spring in you are in the Vancouver area. Or using the workouts from wherever you are in the virtual program. The program begins on April 5th.



Join the exclusive Zoom clinics with Everest record holders who will share valuable planning tips and techniques. They will even give guidance on choosing your hill and we do have riders planning to do an off road accumulation as well! Ride with your small posse, or individually, and post your rides on the TaG Strava page.

All Challengers will receive a special edition Everest Challenge Vest.

TaG's two Canadian Champions, Jordan [Cheyne - Senior Canadian record holder] and Braden [Kersey - Junior record holder], have helped put together a realistic plan to get you prepared. TaG is challenging you to make the elevation gain your focus, with options for all levels to achieve their own version of climbing Everest. Start training in April with specific climbing workouts by Jordan Cheyne and Lesley T.

The local Vancouver program (virtual and outdoor in-person sessions) costs $399, and the all virtual program is $199.
