Paris-Ancaster - Ontario

We have early results from the 8th annual P-A, and Seamus McGrath (Haro-Lee Dungarees) is the repeat winner, in a record time of 1:41:22 for 60 kilometres. He finished 1:40 in front of Josh Hall, who rode the final climb on a flate rear tire. In third was Jeff Hansen, 2:34 behind McGrath. Sue Palmer was top women finisher in 1:50:27. Chrissy Redden, the defending women's champion dropped out after crashing and hurting her shoulder. The event attracted a record 700+ riders.

Conditions were the best ever - warm (20+ Celcius) and sunny (and little wind). McGrath, Hall and Hansen got away from the field and stayed together until shortly after the halfway mark, when Hansen was dropped in rough singletrack. The other two rode together until the final 5 kilometres after Hall's flat.

"Seamus would have dropped me on the climb anyway", said Hall. "He was climbing alot better than me."

Hall says he got a gap on McGrath in the muddy chute section ("Seamus was going sideways on his slicks"), but McGrath caught back up on the rode, when Hall noticed his flat.
