Back to back wins for Milan
Italy continues its perfect run at the UAE Tour, as Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) confirmed his status as the fastest man in the race. In a follow up to yesterday's victory in Fujairah, the sprinter delivered another commanding performance in Dubai, claiming his second consecutive stage win.
A breakaway once more tested the peloton, with Gianni Moscon (Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe), Nickolas Zukowsky (Pinarello-Q36.5) and Black Jersey wearer Silvan Dillier (Alpecin-Premier Tech) holding on until just after three kilometres to go. The general classification remains unchanged, with Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain-Victoriou) still in the lead ahead of the race's second and final summit finish at Jebel Hafeet.
Top Canadian on the stage was Riley Pickrell (Modern Adventure Pro Cycling) in 47th at 10s behind the winner. Derek Gee-West (Lidl-Trek) sits 7th in the GC at 1:22 back.
