Redden Wins Mount Snow

Chrissy Redden has won the Norba National Final cross-country at Mount Snow in Vermont. Her win locks up second place in the overall standings, behind her Subaru-Gary Fisher team mate Mary Grigson. Alison Sydor (Trek-VW) was third. The win is Chrissy's second consecutive one at Mount Snow. The women did 4.5 laps.

Chrissy Redden - "The start was really fast. Trish (Sinclair - Ford/Devinci) attacked at the start and I was on her wheel. Before the singletrack there was a 500 metre climb and Alison attacked there so I followed her into the singletrack. When we came out (of the singletrack) Alison and I had 10 seconds on Alison Dunlap (GT).

Alison dropped back and Dunlap moved up closer to me so I attacked harder and had about 30 seconds after a lap and a half. My team told me I had 50 seconds after two laps, so I started to pace myself. I heard that Mary had moved into second so I picked it up a bit, because she is a strong finisher, but on the last lap I still had a minute so I backed off a bit to be careful and enjoy the last descent into the finish.

I'm really happy with this result. My training has been good for here and for Mont Ste Anne next week."

The men's 5.5 lap race is underway, and at the end of the first half lap a group of about 6 has a small gap. In that front group are Roland Green (Trek-VW), Ryder Hesjedal (Subaru-Gary Fisher), Geoff Kabush (Kona) and Seamus McGrath (Haro-Lee Dungarees). Chris Sheppard is just behind (Haro-Lee Dungarees).
