Friday was the final night of track racing in Medellin.

The Canadian team opened up the night in true Canadian style. Lars & Steen Madsen along with Jim Fisher rode the final of the Olympic Sprint (Doug Baron rode the 1/2 final last night). The team set another personal best time 46.27 over the 750 meter event.

Official Results
1. Canada 46.271
2. Colombia 47.719
3. Chile 47.479
4. Argentenia 47.964

The men's keirin followed with Doug Baron and Steen Madsen competing in the 1/2 final round. Steen qualified for the finals, Doug was finished 5th in his semi and did not qualify for the final. In the final Steen found himself in a very good position with 1 lap to go, but was unable to over power Barry Forde and Michael Pedrosa . Steen faded to 5th in the final 100 Meters.

Alex and Mark rode the men's madison tonite as well. They were in very tough in a very small but very talented field. (5 teams finished) Colombia ended up winning on points over Chile and Argentina in 3rd. Mexico ended up 4th with our Canadian team in 5th.

Our track sprint team heads home tomorrow (Saturday) morning.

The womens road race is at 8 am, with the espoir mens event at 10:30
am.

More news after the road events.
