Giro di Lombardia World Cup Final

Danilo di Luca (Cantina Tollo) has won the final round of the Road World Cup, while Erik Dekker (Rabobank) wrapped up the title. Rabobank also took the team title.

Beat Zberg started the action with an attack at the 165 kilometre mark of the 256 kilometre race. He was joined by other riders, including Dekker. The front group split into smaller groups, with 4 riders establishing themselves at the front with 20 kilometres to go - di Luca, Guiliano Figueras (Ceramiche-Panaria), Michael Boogerd (Rabobank) and Richard Virenque (Domo-Farm Frites). di Luca attacked on the final climb, dropping the other three, but Boogerd and Figueras were able to chase back on. However, the Cantina Tollo rider was able to outsprint the other two to take the victory. Dekker finished 12th.
