November 5th Meeting

The Pickering-Uxbridge Town Line, a major part of the Walker Property / Glen Major Forest System, has been devastated. The once small car track trail, and part of the Trans Canada Trail, now resembles Hwy #407 for no good reason.

The Deputy Mayor of Pickering, Councilor Rick Johnson, owns a piece of landlocked land just to the south of the road allowance. He took it upon himself to widen the road allowance without any permits, approval, or public support for this action. Trees were destroyed, culverts installed, a trail destroyed and all for the benefit of one individual.

Rick Johnson should not get away with this. Come show your support for this cycling area and attend the meeting if possible.

Meeting location: Pickering Municipal Centre Just east of the Pickering Town Centre From Toronto, Hwy #401 East to Brock Rd., 2 lights west of Brock Rd., take Glenanna Rd. South, Building with the Clock Tower is the Municipal Centre

Meeting Time: Monday, November 5, 7:30 pm

Meeting Delegation: If you want to speak at the meeting you must register with the Township of Pickering by 12 pm on Friday, November 2. Call 905-420-4611 for more information.
