A Canadian National squad is currently „Down Under‰ to compete in a series of events, of which this is the first.

Stage 1 - a Criterium in Sydney, Kim Langton finished 8th and Annie Gariepy 9th.
Stage 2 - a road race in Sydney, Sophie St. Jacques finished 5th.
Stage 3 - a road road in Canberra, no top ten finish
Stage 4 - a Criterium in Canberra, Kim Langton finished 4th and Annie Gareipy 6th.

This was a points stage race and the road races carried more points than the criteriums. We do not know the team's final individual or team standings but they were not in the top 10. This is obviously because the majority of points and top placings were in the criteriums.

In the last stage of the Discovery Channel Women's Stage Race, Kim Langton was in a break of 5 that lapped the field. She went for the sprint too early and ended up in 4th place. Annie Gariepy won the bunch sprint for 6th. On overall GC Kim Langton was 12th and Annie Gariepy 16th. Apparently the team are going surfing today and then to the zoo to see Koala Bears.

This was a very high calibre field with a good international representation. Many countries are riding Australian events at the moment to 'test the waters' for the Olympics.

The team moves on next to New Zealand where they will compete in the 5 day Tour of New Zealand.
