Cycling Celebration

Tickets are going fast for the Cycling Celebration next Saturday evening. Our guests of honour include Roland Green (World Champion XC and Team Relay, World Cup champion, Norba champion and national champion), Chrissy Redden (World Champion Team Relay, World Cup Final winner), Michael Barry (2nd San Francisco GP, 4th Peace Race, 4th Beauce), Sue Palmer (10th World Championships road race) and members of the Ontario Team from the Canada Summer Games. Also confirmed is Olympic and World championship medallist, and Yellow Jersey holder Steve Bauer. We wil be announcing other special guests over the next few days.

The event takes place at the Steamwhistle Brewery, next to the CN Tower and Skydome in Toronto. The doors open at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $15 for OCA members, $20 for non-members, $30 for OCA families and $40 for non-OCA families. For younger enthusiasts who wish to meet their heroes, we will have a special session from 7:00 - 8:00 pm (same location) - the Youth Cycle-Ganza. If you wish to attend this session only, the cost is $10 for guests under 16, $15 for guests 16 and over, and $30 for families. Tickets include a pizza dinner for this session.

You can obtain tickets for both events by clicking on the Cycling Celebration button at the top of the page. If there are any tickets left, the cost at the door will be $25 per person, however, last year it was sold out in advance, so we recommend reserving your spot early.

CC Poll

We have begun a new survey. Click on the Vote! button to participate. We reported last week after the 'Cross Nationals that there was some thought going into the idea of having an eastern and a western Canada Cup series (rather then the current single, coast to coast setup), with one final event for both series (possibly the Nationals). Let us know what you think.

CC Awards

There is less then 1 week left to vote for the Canadian Cyclist of the Year winners. Click on the button at the top of the page to register your choice.
