Hughes Wins in Australia

Clara Hughes, riding for the Saturn team in the Snowy Tour, in Australia, has won the second stage of this stage race. It was a sprint finish, with Hughes‚ Saturn teammate Karen Kurreck taking second and New Zealander Susy Pryde third. Jeanne Longo-Ciprelli of France continues to hold the overall lead, after her first stage breakaway. Lithuanian Rasa Polikeviciute is second at 2:09, and Hughes has moved up from 4th to third (based on time bonuses), at 2:30. Hughes is also second in the Sprint competition. Unfortunately, no word on the rest of the Canadians.
