Tour Cycliste Saguenay - Lac St-Jean (thanks to J.L.) The TOUR CYCLISTE SAGUENAY/LAC ST-JEAN started yesterday with a 182 km road race. Today, Friday, there is an 8km ITT followed, tonight, by a 50 km criterium. Saturday, road race of 171 km and it ends Sunday with a 78 km road race. Yesterday, the veteran cyclist John Harris, from New-Zealand, made his experience talk has he won the first stage of the Tour cycliste Saguenay/Lac St-Jean. About 70 cyclists started this 4 day stage race. 33 year old Harris, from the Toronto Ital-Pasta team, won the final sprint by less than a wheel on Jean-Sebastien Beland of the Everfresh/Radio-Energie team with a time of 4 h. 24 min. 5 secs., an average of 41.4 km/hr. Third went to Andrew Randell from the Espoirs Laval. 9 other cyclists finished 12 seconds behind. In the team standings, Everfresh has a 2 minutes lead on Jeep Eagle. Everfresh had 3 cyclist in the first 10: Beland (2nd), Bergeron (5th) and Beauchamp (7th). 2 other favourites finished 12 seconds from Harris - Michael Barry (Espoirs Laval)and Mark Walters (Jeep Eagle).
