Victoria's Sandy Espeseth double winner at Times Colonist Bastion Square Cycling Festival

Victoria (May 26, 2002) – Victoria's Sandy Espeseth (Speed Queens) and Mike Korb (Russ Hayes Bicycles) took the 100.3 the Q Bastion Square Cycling Grant Prix titles today, capping a weekend of cycling in Victoria.

Espeseth won the 100.3 the Q Bastion Square Cycling Grand Prix today in much the same style as yesterday's win at the HSBC Mt. Tolmie Road Race - she took off on her own with a few laps to go and cruised across the finish line to victory. Korb sprinted from the pack going into the last corner to take the race.

Victoria's Lisa Sweeney (Speed Queens) and Melanie McQuaid (Fisher/Saucony/Powerbar) were second and third respectively and in the men's race Victoria's Luca Segato (Partone International) and first-year senior Cameron Evans (Broadmark Capital C) of Delta came in behind Korb.

Espeseth and Segato won the "Top Victorian" awards for their cumulative points over the two days of racing.

In the HSBC Mt. Tolmie Race, Victoria's Geoff Kabush (Kona Factory Team) took the title with Matt Usborne (Partone Internatonal) and Cory Lange (PacificSport) behind him in the sprint. Manon Jutras (Rona) and Sara Neil (Trek/VW) came in behind Espeseth.
