Jaermann Wins Amstel Gold World Cup

Rolf Jaermann has won the 252 km Amstel Gold World Cup ahead of his breakaway companion Martin den Bakker. The two rolled off the front of a small front group in the race with about 30 kilometres to go. They were allowed to get away because favourite in the group - Michele Bartoli was heavily marked and couldn‚t chase on. Bartoli took 3rd, and padded his World Cup overall lead.
