A Correction

Dear Editor:

I noticed that in an October 30 story on your website about the Steamworks Tour de Gastown (which I watched this past summer - excellent event and great racing) it is stated that: "Returning as title sponsor for 2003 is Steamworks Brewing Co., which, with the production of its limited edition Skinny Tire Beer, made the Steamworks Tour de Gastown the only bike race in North America to have its own beer."

I thought you should be made aware that the Squamish Test of Metal mountain bike race (www.testofmetal.com) has had its own beer for the past several years. The Howe Sound Inn and Brewing Company of Squamish, one of the event's long-time and key sponsors, every year for the Test of Metal brews the limited edition Mettle Man Honey Hemp Ale.

Editor's Note: Whenever I am in the area I make a point of stopping in at the Howe Sound Inn for some of their excellent beer. The Pilsener Plunge variety is listed on our Editorial Beers page.
