French Portion of Transoceane Cancelled

Cowansville, Friday August 23, 2002 - This Friday, the organizers of Transoceane announced that the stages designated to be held in Brittany, France between September 25th and 29th are cancelled, as is the prologue in Montreal on September 18th. The organizers are attempting to preserve the five stages in the area of Brominates-Missisquoi, Quebec. At this time, they cannot confirm whether the five remaining stages will be held (tentatively planned for September 19-22).

"We were advised by one of the involved parties that we will obtain an answer on August 26th. We cannot mention which party, but it has an unquestionable impact on the presentation of the event. At that time we will know the fate of the event" stated Jean Lessard, president of Transoceane.

Note: the dates and locations of the cancelled stages are listed below the French statement.
