Meirhaeghe Wins at St Wendel

Chrissy Redden (Team Ritchey) just had a minute to speak to us after the men‚s World Cup race in St Wendel, Germany, so here‚s the scoop:

A group of 5 riders got away early and hammered the whole race, coming down to a sprint finish. In the group (and finishing in this order) were: Filip Meirhaeghe (Specialized), Cadel Evans (Volvo-Cannondale), Miguel Martinez (Sunn), Rune Hoydahl (Giant) and Christophe Dupouey (Sunn). Around a minute back was Jerome Chiotti (GT). Top Canadian finisher was Chris Sheppard (Catera/Pure Energy), somewhere in the mid-30‚s. Chrissy said that it was very hot and sunny, and the race was extremely fast. More news and results to follow.
