John Doerr has joined Cannondale as its new Chief Operating Officer. A bike industry veteran and a passionate mountain biker, Doerr comes to Cannondale from Bell Sports where he was Vice President of Supply Chain Management. While at Bell Doerr improved order fill-rate from 86% to 99% while overseeing forecasting, production planning, purchasing, vendor relations, import logistics and customer service. Doerr has a total of 15 years experience in production, operations and supply chain management.

Doerr joins Cannondale's existing management team, which is led by long-time employees Scott Montgomery (Vice President of Marketing) and Dan Alloway (Vice President of Sales). Len Konecny is the company's Vice President of Purchasing, and Mike Dower is Vice President of Information Technology.

"We're extremely excited to have John joining our team," said David Uri, a Director of Cannondale and a Partner at Cannondale's parent company, Pegasus Capital Advisors, L.P. "Our U.S. bike factory is a key competitive advantage for both Cannondale and our dealers, and with John's help we're looking forward to taking more complete advantage of the benefits that domestic bike production gives us."

Doerr is equally upbeat about joining the Connecticut-based bike maker. "I'm very attracted to Cannondale's mix of strengths and opportunities," said Doerr. "The company has what is undoubtedly one of the strongest brands in the bike business, with a fantastic reputation for innovation and quality. At the same time, there are very real opportunities to improve a number of internal operations that will make us a world class supplier to our dealers, and also a better partner with our vendors."

Doerr's hiring is just one part of the company's efforts to improve its operations. Cannondale is also working with an independent consulting firm to streamline materials flow and enhance production efficiencies at its Bedford, Pennsylvania bicycle factory, and the company is also actively involved in the search for a new Chief Financial Officer.

Doerr holds a B.S. in Industrial and Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, and an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. In addition to his experience at Bell Sports, Doerr has also held positions with Cobra Golf, Inc., Reflex Corporation and Kurt Salmon Associates.
