Canadian Cyclist Fantasy Tour

We are finally ready to announce the winners of the 2003 Canadian Cyclist Fantasy Tour. And the winner is . . . the Editoress, with 369 points! (I will never live this down) Since she is not eligible for prizes, the grand prize goes to 'Bikecrazie' (362 points), who led at the end of each of the first three weeks. Bikecrazie wins a very sweet prize - full Bianchi Team Kit, including jersey, shorts, gloves and cap; all the same equipment as worn by Jan Ullrich. This prize is generously donated by Mike Doble at Roces Canada, the Canadian distributor for Bianchi Bicycles. Limited editions of this Bianchi clothing will be available at dealers in the next week or two. The retail value of this prize is $302.

Second place goes to 'vbot' at 359 points, who wins a pair of week long passes for the finish line grandstand at the Hamilton Road Worlds. From here, he/she will be able to watch the riders around the course on the Jumbotron video screen, as well as see the finish of each race live. This prize is donated by the 2003 Hamilton Road World Championships. The value of this prize is $300.

In third place we have 'Colnago', with 348 points. Colnago wins a Giordana CTS jersey and CP4 shorts, courtesy of Gita North, the Canadian distributor of Giordana clothing, plus the book 'High-Tech Cycling - 2nd Edition', by Edmund R. Burke, courtesy Human Kinetics. The jersey and shorts have a retail value of $200, and the book $40. Giordana clothing is available online through the CC Store, or at your local Giordana dealer, and High-Tech Cycling is also available through the CC Store or at your local bike shop.

'rnigel' took fourth place, with 330 points, and wins a pair of Rudy Project Tayo cycling glasses, courtesy of Rudy Project (retail value $160). In fifth place, 'rmm' takes a four gallon pack of Gatorade drink, courtesy of Gita North, with a retail value of $50.

Winners are asked to contact us to arrange to claim their prize. Please contact us at rjones@canadiancyclist.com
