Sydor Joins Rocky-Crystal Decisions
Vancouver, BC, Canada - World-renowned Canadian women's cyclist, Alison Sydor has returned to her roots by signing with Rocky Mountain Crystal Decisions Race Team. As of October 3, 2003 Sydor joined fellow Canadian Olympians Lesley Tomlinson, and Andreas Hestler, along with German XC Marathon Champion Karl Platt and Tomlinsons partner in 2 Trans Alp Challenge victories, Gretchen Reeves.
After 13 years on the World Cup circuit Sydor continues to compete at the top of her sport. She is a triple World Champion, Olympic Silver Medallist, Triple World Cup Champion, and has a dozen World Championship medals. Her recent World Championship silver medal shows Alison is well on her way to her goal of a Gold medal at her 4th Olympic Games in Athens 2004. It is the only prize that she has not yet won in the sport. In addition to her performance at Worlds this season, Sydor took a second place at the Grouse Mtn World Cup, had 6 podium finishes including two wins on the Norba Circuit and took the gold at the Pan American Continental Championships.
"I am very proud to be a Canadian and I'm a bit of a bike fanatic," expressed Sydor, newest member of Rocky Mountain Crystal Decisions Race Team. "I'm really happy to be riding Rocky Mountain Bicycles again. I have a lot of history with this company. Plus, what's better than riding beautiful boutique bikes made right here in Canada, in fact right in my home town."
Sydor won her first World Cup race in Chateau D'Oex,Switzerland on a Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt in 1991. In 1992 she had a World Cup win in Klosters on a Rocky and third overall in the 1993 World Cup on her Rocky Mountain Altitude.

Along with her commitment to competing, Alison Sydor will continue to share her experiences with others. Dedicated to athlete development, she looks forward to adding her mentorship to the young riders in the Rocky Mountain Crystal Decisions Development Team, and continuing her participation in the youth mountain biking program, Sprockids -- Two Wheeled Approach to Self Esteem.
