January 15, 2004, Port Coquitlam, BC - Norco Performance Bikes, one of North America's leading producers of high quality mountain bikes, components, and clothing, is proud to announce that Shaums March will be riding for the 2004 Norco Factory Team.

Shaums is an extremely talented and well rounded rider that is equally at home at full speed on a World Cup or NORBA DH course, but also throwing it down at a Redbull Rampage (where he finished 4th in 2002) or at a street event like the Boston Bike Battle (where he placed 3rd). This former NORBA NATIONAL DH RACE winner was also the fastest North American rider at the 2003 Worlds held in Lugano Switzerland last fall.

"Shaums is a welcome addition to our team," states PR Marketing Manager Peter Stace-Smith, "and we are super excited to have him on board with us for '04 and '05." Stace-Smith adds, "we definitely have the bikes he needs and wants to go fast or big in every aspect of his riding and he will probably be in the USA more than our current squad is, thus gaining us valuable exposure on our bikes down there. This is a win-win for sure."

You'd think traveling the world competing in high caliber events was enough, but Shaums will continue to run his "Mad March Race and Training Camps" all over North America this season (recently announced as the official training camps of the NORBA series) and still keeps it real by always making time for the next generation of up-and-coming rippers whether it's just giving pointers to local kids, training camp participants, or friends hanging out at his backyard dirt jump park.

Keep your eyes open for Shaums and fellow downhill teammates Mike Jones (2003 Canadian National DH Champion), Hugo Donais and Mike Kinrade as they will be ripping their way through the racing and freeride scenes in their search for podium real estate.
