Tim Hortons National Track Championships

To all concerned,
After months of negotiations......

I would like to announce that the Greater Victoria Velodrome Association has agreed to host the 2004 Tim Hortons National Track Championships. We have come to an agreement with the CCA and the national events committee, to be able to host the Championships in the great city of Victoria on the 5th-8th of August.

These Championships are a needed addition to the lean track racing calender, the dates of the event will work well with the race calender in the Northwest, coming 11 days after a three week rush of American Velodrome Series races, all starting in Victoria with $10 000 cash (July 9-11), Portland with $15,000 US cash (July 16-18), and Seattle (July 23-25). This event will also inject some needed junior racing to our area.

We would like to thank the CCA and the events committee for their ability to come to terms with us in the planning of this event. We would also like to thank the various people in the Canadian track cycling community who's support has made this a reality for Victoria. You all know who you are. I also want to thank the members of the GVVA for supporting this endeavor.

For more info check our website www.gvva.bc.ca over the next few months for info related to our events and our programs.

Thank you,

Keith Bruneau
President, Greater Victoria Velodrome Association
