Svein Tuft Joins Symmetrics

In keeping with Symmetrics Cycling's mandate to develop local British Columbia talent, Svein Tuft joins the Symmetrics Team for the remainder of 2004. Tuft is a former Prime Alliance professional rider and brings this varied and intense experience to the team.

Tuft is a multiple Canadian National Championship medalist in the time trial, and winner of the criterium event at the 2003 Canadian National Championships. On the international front, Tuft has achieved victories in stages at top level races such as the GP Cycliste de Beauce, and the Tour de 'Toona,and competed in the Tour de l'Avenir and Tour de Langkawi. Tuft's race calendar for the Symmetrics Cycling Team will be comprised of BC and Pacific Northwest races including the BC Cup Road Series, the UCI 2.3 GP Cycliste de Beauce, NRC Cascade Cycling Classic, BC Superweek, and the Canadian National Road Championships. Tuft will begin racing this coming weekend at the Mutual of Enumclaw Stage Race in Enumclaw, WA, USA.

Symmetrics Cycling co-founder Kevin Cunningham says, "The addition of Svein was a logical step in our progression. Svein brings with him a wealth of experience and great results. He is a proven commodity who is a professional and this will help in the development of our talented younger riders."
