Canadian BMX Development Team

The Canadian Cycling Association is pleased to announce the riders selected to the 2005 BMX spring development project in Florida.

Carded athletes were automatically chosen for the project, and the remainder of the team was selected based on the results of the Abbotsford Indoor competition on February 12 and 13.

After some close racing which led to tough choices, the team will be as follows:

Elite men:
Aaron Lepp AB (automatic)
Bob Rowley ON
Jon Land BC

Elite women:
Samantha Cools (automatic)

Junior men:
Scott Erwood BC (automatic)
Patrick Lebel AB

Junior women:
Christine Miller AB
Danielle Brisson BC

The project will consist of two UCI events: the NBL Easter Classic National in Orlando, Florida, on March 26, and the NBL Gator National in Tampa, Florida, on April 2. The week between the events will be spent training in Florida.

I would like to personally thank Gary Harder and his Abbotsford BMX crew for organizing the fantastic winter indoor season, Tracy Sheppard of PacificSport for help with the selection process, and of course all the athletes for putting on a great show, which is, of course, the whole point.

Equipe BMX Canadienne De Developpement

L’Association cycliste canadienne est fier d’annoncer les noms des coureurs sélectionnés pour le projet 2005 de développement BMX en Floride.

Les athlètes brevetés étaient automatiquement sélectionnés pour ce projèt, et le reste de l’équipe était choisi suite à l’Abbotsford Indoor, du 12 au 13 février.

Après quelques courses serrées et des choix difficiles, la composition de l’équipe sera la suivante :

Le projet consiste de deux épreuves UCI: le NBL Easter Classic à Orlando, Floride, le 26 mars, et le NBL Gator National à Tampa, Floride, le 2 avril. La semaine entre les deux épreuves sera dédiée à l’entraînement en Floride.

Je voudrais personnellement remercier Gary Harder et les gens d’Abbotsford BMX pour avoir organisé la série d’hiver à l’intérieur, Tracy Sheppard de PacificSport pour son aide durant le procéssus de sélection, et bien sur, tous les athlètes pour leurs performances – c’est pour eux qu’on fait ça.
