Forest City Velodrome

Sprinting is "King" this Saturday evening at the Forest City Velodrome at the London Gardens. Riders are coming from Montreal, Vancouver, Rochester New York, and Detroit to contest the first "Sprint Night of racing at London's new sports venue.

The Lap Record of 8.51 seconds set last week by Vancouver's Keith Thorarnson is sure to fall in the early events planned for the evening of speed.

The London Track League riders will be contesting the usual mass start events. In addition the Tiny Mites (kids under 10) will be racing on the infield to show how fast our future Olympians can be. The Tiny Mites program is part of the development program of our future stars in the Province of Ontario at the Velodrome.

Another new division will be the Clydesdales. These bulky riders will be competing for the first time, (should be very entertaining).

The Nas-Track Madison Teams will also be contesting 2 separate Madisons on the evening.

The "Night of Speed" is this Saturday May 21st. Doors open at 5:30pm with racing at 7pm. Adults $10.00, Seniors $5.00, Children under 13 Free.

Learn to Ride programs are now open for new riders to try the Velodrome, in the first 2 weeks our dedicated group of volunteers have put 28 new riders through the program. check the website www.ForestCityVelodrome.ca to register for the LTR program.

See you at the track.
