It is with extreme pleasure that I am writing to extend my congratulations to Mr. Stephen Burke on behalf of the programs area here at the Olympic Oval.

As of October 1st, 2005 Stephen Burke was named National Paralympic Head Coach, for the Canadian Cycling Association. This is a full time position with the Canadian Cycling Association.

Stephen has been fulfilling this role in a part time capacity since 2002, along with his Olympic Oval National Cycling Centre-Calgary coaching group responsibilities. With this new designation, Stephen will assume full accountability for the National Paralympic Program, as well as maintaining a leadership role with Calgary & Alberta based athletes with a disability through the National Cycling Centre-Calgary office. As this position is now fully linked to the Canadian Cycling Association, Stephen has effectively resigned his position with the Olympic Oval. Stephen will still share an office with the National Cycling Centre-Calgary staff, and will remain Calgary based.

I would also like to take this opportunity to officially welcome two new faces into the Olympic Oval family. Mr. Jayson Gillespe, and Mr. Adam Bailey will be working in part-time roles with the National Cycling Centre-Calgary. Jayson will fulfill the role of coaching our elite junior, and espoir aged athletes as well as co-ordinate our Club Racer program. Adam will fulfill the role as Junior Development coach, working with our up and coming youth athletes. Please welcome these two new coaches into our program's area.
