Forest City Velodrome

No Brakes!.... No Gears!..... All Glory!

It has been 35 years since the last 6 Day Team Race in Ontario. This Friday October 21st at 7pm, will be the first night of racing at the Forest City Velodrome. The teams have been practicing every Wednesday night for months, and the riders are ready to get under way.

Each night of racing will see 3 - 30 minute team races, with elbow to elbow racing happening all over the 138m Velodrome, mix in some points sprints and the crowd favorite "Devil", It will be a full night of action packed track racing. The teams are back at it on Saturday night at 7 & Sunday afternoon at 2pm.

If you have never seen an Indoor Bike Race the first weekend is where you will learn how to watch the event. The 2 man teams accumulate points to determine the winners after 6 nights of racing. In the Team Race each partner makes an exchange (tag) every 2 or 3 laps. It's like short track speedskating on wheels.

In addition to the main event the "A" Madison, there will be racing with the newer riders at the Velodrome taking part in the "AA" event. The Velo-Kids and some London Track League racers will also be racing.

Local London racers, John Craig Jr, Jean Bertrand "Bermuda", Dave "No Hands" St James will all be competing in the Team Race.

Because of work schedules, we are using all local Ontario riders. For many of the racers, this will be their first 6 Day event.

Teams will be introduced at 7pm on Friday. The total prize list including primes (special spectator sprint laps) could reach $1,500 at the end of the 6 Days of competition. Speeds will average over 48kph and many of the exchanges will take place well over 55kph.

Adult Admission is $10.00 , Seniors $5.00, Kids are Free

Plan to attend, the most exciting bike races you will ever see.
