Multiple news services are reporting that Liberty-Seguros rider Roberto Heras' B sample from the 20th stage of the Vuelta Espana has returned a positive result for EPO. Heras won the Vuelta, his fourth win, but the victory will now be given to runner-up Denis Menchov. The positive brings an automatic two year suspension from cycling.
Heras has repeatedly denied taking EPO, and has stated that he will appeal the result (if it came back positive), by proving that the testing procedure is flawed.
