Job Opportunity - Hamilton Cycling Centre

The National Cycling Centre Hamilton seeks a part-time administrator to work at the centre and support cycling programs including Sprockids and the development and elite level coaching. One of the goals of the centre is to produce national team athletes. There is a possibility of the position expanding to full-time as the centre develops in future years.

The main responsibilities of this position include:

·Administrative support of coaching programs, development programs, and events
·Basic accounting
·Responding to general information requests
·Marketing and sponsorship development and support
·Liaison with our partners: the City of Hamilton; McMaster University; Ontario Cycling Association, Canadian Cycling Association, and the Canadian Sport Centre Ontario

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will have a degree from a post-secondary institution or equivalent experience in an administrative role, preferably within a sports environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills are important. The successful candidate should be self-motivated and be able to work with little supervision. The position requires strong organizational skills, enthusiasm, attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Proficiency and demonstrated training in Windows; Microsoft Office; Internet, e-mail and desktop publishing are other pre-requisites. A background in cycling would be considered an asset, but is not a requirement.

This is a part time position requiring approximately 20 hrs/wk. Based in Hamilton, Ontario. For more information on the centre, please visit: www.ontariocycling.org
