Louis Barbeau has been elected as the first President of the UCI's new Para-cycling Commission. In September of 2006 IPC Cycling became part of UCI.

M. Barbeau has been a recognized for his longtime involvement with Para-cycling and was the Chief-de-mission for Para-cycling in Athens.

The other members of the Commission are: Théo Hoex (Ned), Thomas Beer (Ger), Mark Fulcher (Aus), Barry Broadbent (GBr).
