U.S. operations to resume exclusive distribution duties in Canada

Dahon's U.S. operations will resume exclusive distribution duties in Canada effective September 30, 2009, ending a two-year distribution venture with Alberta-based Chariot Carriers.

“Chariot has a team of great people and their own line of phenomenal products,” stated Joshua Hon, Dahon vice president. “They share Dahon's deep commitment to green mobility. Our company's recent expansion propelled us to a new level in a very short time and we're experiencing strong growth even in the face of a down economy. Chariot has their own success story to focus on as well, so from a business strategy standpoint we both agree it's time to move on.”

Dahon recently hired Steve Boyd, a bicycle industry executive with significant experience in sales and distribution, most recently with Giant and the American Bicycle Group, as Director of U.S. operations. “Our team is enthusiastic about again working with our Canadian bicycle retailers,” explained Boyd. “Canadian customers will certainly benefit from the solid infrastructure and knowledge base that's been developed here over the years. We look forward to jumping right in at the upcoming ExpoCycle show and retailers can begin calling us at 800-442-3511 on September 30.”

Dahon will be displaying at the ExpoCycle trade show in Montreal from September 10-12 at booth number 238.
