Registration is now open for the Hoss Cross Cyclocross and Running Festival on October 19th & 20th at Centennial Park in Toronto. Midweek Cycling Club, the Dark Horse Flyers Cycling Club and Sound Solutions Cycling Club, have come together to host this inaugural weekend festival of fun!
Saturday, October 19th - Centennial Park, Toronto
Cross Run - The 1st annual 'Cross Run' is a unique cross-country style running race that takes place on the cyclocross course - obstacles included! Whether you choose the 5k or the 10k course, there are fun challenges for youth, adults, and masters alike.
Stage Race - For athletes looking for that extra challenge, there is a points-based 2-day Stage Race option for participating in both the Cross Run & the Cyclocross bike races.
Sunday, October 20th - Centennial Park, Toronto
Cyclocross - Part of the Ontario Cycling Association's O-Cup Series, the 18th Annual Toronto Cyclocross race features categories for all ages (youth to elite). Come race on a classic Belgian-style course which Jeremy Powers calls "the best cyclocross race in North America" due to the technical euro-style off camber climbs and terrain.
Festival - Racers and spectators will find plenty to do at the Hoss Cross Festival. This year's event includes live entertainment, a Joyride 150 mini bike park area, food vendors, a Sunday beer garden and a retail expo.
Proceeds from the Hoss Cross Festival and the sale of 'Hoss' merchandise will go towards an OCA Youth Cycling Bursary, the Youth Cup Race Series, and the Rising Stars Youth Road Camp - all in honour of Kevin Watson.
About Kevin Watson: Kevin, A.K.A. “Hoss”, was an avid cyclist and cyclocross racer who passed away May 10th, 2012, after a 6-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Kevin was devoted to encouraging and enabling youth access and participation in the sport of cycling.
