Formwerks Westside Cycling Classic Cash Prize Purse Set To Exceed $6,000
Championship Race Set To Draw Big Field and Big Crowds

This year's Formwerks Westside Cycling Classic promises to be quite an event, with a cash prize purse in excess of $6,000, lots of great product prizing, an Expo and Team Village, exciting two-way racing, and the Point Grey Fiesta Funfair in Trimble Park. So, whether you plan to race or not this year (by the pre reg numbers it seems most of you are!), please encourage your friends and family to come out to watch and support what is expected to be one of the most exciting races of the year.

"We have had great support from our new sponsors who are keen to help continue to bring exciting racing to Vancouver, and to support the BC Cancer Foundation cause", explained Event Director Jonathan Wornell, "Our pre-registration numbers are double what they were this time last year and we are optimistic for a good showing" Wornell continued.

This year's race promises to feature a "special surprise" crowd prime normally seen in criterium racing in addition to the King & Queen of the Mountain prizing and the first lap prime that was so popular last year.

In addition to the cash purse, the event is being supported by many Vancouver businesses who have been more than pleased to donate prizing, everything from wheel sets, road frames, bicycle components, restaurant gift certificates, food hampers, spa services, hotel accommodation and sports clothing

As part of the Point Grey Fiesta Weekend the race will feature an Expo Village with lots of great sampling of products and a Team Village for the riders to warm up and prepare for the race ahead.

The Wedgewood Cycling Team will donate $5 from each riders entry fee as well as funds raised on the day will be donated to the BC Cancer Foundation.

The Wedgewood Hotel, Washington Marine Group, Bean Around The World Coffee, Treloar Physiotherapy Clinic, and Body & Soul Health & Fitness sponsor the Wedgewood Cycling Team.
