La Coupe de la Paix Stage 1 Kicks off Quebec Superweek Thursday June 22
By Evi Arsenault

Quebec Super week kicks off this Thursday, June 22 with the first of four criteriums in the southern Quebec area. The Nationally ranked series is only in its third year of existence yet already features top men's and women's teams; its close proximity to the Canadian National Championships (June 29 - July 2) makes it a draw for Canada's best to participate.

With prize money totaling $50 000 - a Canadian first - men's teams returning from the Bell Tour de Beauce will be participating - including teams from Europe and Oceania.

The fast technical circuits averaging 3 K each lap will allow spectators to see the racing up close and personal.

La Coupe de la Paix Stage 1 will take place in Laval, the Pro Women's race will begin at 10:00am - 48 K and 20 laps; while the Pro Men's race is 72 K and 30 laps, and starts at 11:40am.

Directions
- located Close to the Centre de la Nature à Laval
- take the Pie IX Bridge and take the boul. Concorde exit, following the directions for the Centre de la Nature
