"Doctor" Clara Hughes

Cyclist and speedskater Clara Hughes has been awarded an honourary Doctor of Laws degree by the University of Manitoba at the 2006 Fall Convocation, to recognize her "distinguished achievements and contributions". At the same ceremony speedskater (and cyclist) Cindy Klassen was awarded the same honourary degree. Our congratulations to both athletes.
