Become a Volunteer for the Canadian Pan American Games Team!

Federacion Venezolana Polideportiva de Sordo (Venezuela Deaf Sports Federation) will host the 4th Pan American Games for the Deaf from August 11 to 18, 2007 at Valencia Carabobo Island, Venezuela. The training camps will take place from August 6 to 8 in Montreal for basketball, volleyball, bowling, and athletics, and in Toronto for soccer.

Both events will require volunteers, who will have an opportunity to make a vital contribution to the success of Canadian athletes!

During the Pan Am Games for the Deaf, the Games Preparation Committee (GPC) will need volunteers to work mainly with the mission staff. The Pan Am Games for the Deaf is an important event for the Pan American countries and a qualifying zone for some events to become eligible for the 2009 Deaflympics in Taiwan.

Volunteering will require commitment, patience, sensitivity, flexibility, passion, realistic expectations, respect, and the ability to have lots of fun, while at times working under pressure. You will have the opportunity to experience the Games. For your volunteer work, you will receive official Team Canada clothing and you will meet the Canadian athletes in person.

To become a volunteer, you are required to complete and submit the application form and a police record check. Visit the website: www.assc-cdsa.com and click on the information in the lower right side of the page.
