Blizzard Bike Club Fort St. John, BC

August 19th

Colter Young won the Old Fort Road hill climb, Sunday, with a time of 20:23 minutes for the 8.6 km distance. Robin Baillie was second by a second. Bob Andrews was third at 21:30. Pat Ferris was 4th at 22:25 and Richard Wood 5th at 23:13.

Barb Polehoykie was 6th at 23:14, Jolea Bilodeau out sprinted Kendra Young for 7th at 23:49, Ken Nix 25:33, Owen Giebelhaus 27:08, Sandra MacDonald 27:20 and Marie Young 27:40.

A busy week for the Blizzards with the Thursday Baldonnel time trial at 7 pm. There is a Sunday Montney road race at 10:00 am with the start at the Montney Store.

There will be a squad of Blizzards going to the Provincial Road Championships in Lacombe, Alberta, Sunday.

Five Blizzards will be doing the tough Penticton Ironman, next Sunday as well. Irvin Tang, Kathryn Fairweather, Darren Guliov and Ann and Brian Hurst will be doing the 2.5 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run under the Okanagan heat. You can follow them at www.ironman.ca as they compete.

Wim Kok starts the 1200 km ParisˆBrest-Paris in France, tomorrow.
