Report from Poley Mountain

The weather is cold today (or as Rob says COLD!!). Everyone is starting out in jackets and tights on their training rides. The weather promises to warm up for tomorrows Downhill events.

Early critiques are VERY favourable to the downhill course. Trevor Porter has done a fabulous job of proving that the east can provide a Canada Cup quality DH.

The editor arrived this afternoon, and will be provided regular coverage throughout the weekend. He ran in to Melanie McQuaid who had the trip from H***. Both of her bikes were damaged in transit, the airline lost her luggage, and her overnight flight from Vancouver arrived late in Halifax and she missed her connecting flight to NB. She spent 5 hours in the Halifax airport waiting for the next flight.
