April 24/09 8:49 am - Tour of Malaysia: Stage 6, Routley 4th on stage, now 4th on GC

Posted by Editoress on 04/24/09

Will Routley finished 4th in the bunch sprint for today's 6th stage.  His efforts have now put him in 4th overall, with  2 more days of racing to go!

So today was not an easy day before the climb, it was a race. But a good one. Stressful for awhile when a break was gone with 6 GC guys, but a chase was on from the Aussie team which had missed it, and just when they blew out I bridged across with one of their 2 GC riders, so... We rolled the break and ended up staying away by 20-25 seconds. And I took a 1 second time bonus at an intermediate sprint then 4th in the end. Anyway, we on an epic post stage bus ride. Tomorrow (up Genting) is really the big showdown now. I'll keep you posted. Will
