The Junior women are just about to start their 3 lap race.  Each lap is 6.49 kilometres. The day is cool, the sun is shining and there is very little wind, so perfect conditions.


There are 30 women taking the start with 3 Canadians: Laura Bietola, Cayley Brooks and Natasha Oldcorn


Riders to watch will be Pauline Ferrand Prevot  (France) who is the European Champion and Michelle Hediger (Switzerland) who was 2nd


Lap 1


It is Germany at the front as they head out for the first lap.  Laura Bietola is sitting ~ 6th.


At the end of lap 1, it is Michelle Hediger (Switzerland) and Pauline Ferrand Prevot  (France) crossing together (lap time 21:40) , followed by Candice Neethling  (South Africa) at 47 seconds, then Noga Korem  (Israel) at 1 min, Anne Terpstra  (Netherlands) at 1:15, Helen Grobert  (Germany) at 1:18,


Cayley Brooks  (Canada) is sitting 17th at 2:54 back, Laura Bietola  (Canada) 24th, Natasha Oldcorn (Canada) 27th


Lap 2

Early on the Cardiac climb

Pauline Ferrand Prevot has taken the lead followed by Michelle Hediger. Candice Neethling has 3rd, Helen Grobert 4th and

Anne Terpstra 5th.  Cayley Brooks has dropped back to 21st, Laura Bietola 25th and Natasha Oldcorn 28th


Through the feedzone (~ 1/2 way through the lap) , Hediger has taken the lead and has 5 seconds on Ferrand Prevot


Last Lap

Starting the final lap, Hediger has 5 seconds on Ferrand Prevot, Neethling has 3rd, Korem  (Israel) 4th, Grobert 5th, Elise Marchal    (Belgium) 6th


Brooks 18th, Bietola 22nd, Oldcorn has not come through yet


On the climb, Hediger and Ferrand Prevot are together, Neethling at 50 sec. Korem and Grobert together at  2 min.

Brooks still 18th, Bietola 22nd.  Natasha Oldcorn has had a crash and a flat on lap 2


Through the 2nd feed zone and heading to the finish, Ferrand Prevot has taken back the lead and Hediger appears to be fading.  Neethling is starting to close the gap
