November 3/10 10:05 am - 60 Cycles - Historic Canadian Racing Film

Posted by Editoress on 11/3/10

If you haven't seen this historic film by Jean-Claude Labrecque of the 1965 Tour du St Laurent, now is your chance, as the National Film Board of Canada continues to digitize its extensive library.  Riders from 13 countries and three continents took part in the 11th edition of this race and, while the equipment may have changed in the last 45 years, the passion (and it looks like some of the roads...) has not.  It covered 1386 miles (2224 kilometres) in 17 stages.

If your internet connectivity allows, watch in High Quality.  We'll come with a prize for the first person (other than the editor) who can identify the opening theme music and the race winner...
