Buy a Piece of History
Mike Tierney has passed on an interesting link to the auction house that is selling off the remaining equipment for Syncros. As has been previously reported, the Syncros name and product line has been sold to GT, and this Canadian company is no more. Inventor of the bar end, manufacturer of many high end and bomb proof components, Syncros was one of the first Canadian success stories in the mountain bike industry. You can get more information about the auction at http://www.tradewestsales.com/syncros.asp. (Ed. Note: If anyone does go to the auction, please send us a report.)

Super Cup #1 Cyclo-Cross
Peter Wedge has sent in a report on the first race in the U.S. Super Cup cyclo-cross series, in Boston, Massachusetts.
1) Daniell Pontoni (Selle Italia) 2) Steve Larsen (ll bean) 3) Bart Bowen (Saturn) 4) Mark Gullikson 5) Peter Wedge (Kona-Mapei) 6) Tim Johnson (I.F.) 7) Frank MacKormack (Saturn)
Pontoni crushed. Bart rolled a tire (d'oh!) so Larsen got second, and Gullickson caught me with 2 to go. The course was fast and dry, possibly the hottest cross race ever (25+ degrees). Loads of spectators and a very well run race. They even had a beer tent. I was all over that. Other Canadians that I know of; Osmond Baker finished 21st, and Anna Healy finished 16th in the womens pro race. Land speed record for a Corolla packed to the nuts, Boston-Fredericton - 6:15hrs.
