Haliburton Forest MTB Festival - Ontario
(courtesy W.O.W.)

September 1st, is the pre-registration discount cut-off date for our favourite event of the year, the Haliburton Forest MTB Festival (Sept 16/17). Save yourself some bucks and help us with our planning. Get your registration in soon.

There are a quite a few changes to this year’s festival. The Hill Climb is back, but we’ve dropped some of the Base Camp activities to make more time for the Infamous Haliburton Forest Puddle Jump. This is one unique experience for the riders and the spectators. After the success of 1999’s Night Ride and Wolf Howl (almost 100 riders and the real wolves did howl) we plan to have an even better route. Bring good lights and we might try the “Nocturnal Normac”.

Sunday is riding day, and we have changes there as well. There is a longer route, now 50 km, with some new trails in the eastern part of the Haliburton Forest Reserve. The popular poker ride is back, with some great prizes for the best hand. The big changes are in the Enduro. You’ve got a choice of doing one lap of the 50 km, or 2 laps for a 100 km of climbs, single track, rocks and roots. We need more 100 km racers! Seems that it’s kind of scary. Come on, have some courage. We also have more categories for the 50 km Enduro. There is a Clydesdale Class, and Tandem and Single Speed categories as well.

There is something for the whole family at the Haliburton Forest MTB Festival. Camping with your friends, great meals at the new restaurant, a visit to the Wolf Centre and a chance to ride the best trails in the province. For complete details and a registration form please visit the W.O.W. web site at www.wowmtb.com. For your convenience, registrations can be faxed to W.O.W. at 905-567-8258. See you there!
